Juliani and Bob Collymore do it big!

Yes, I am very much a married woman nowadays but I have something to admit- I have the biggest ‘Celeb’ crush at the mo!

This crush is all about respect and awe and nothing pervy-FYI.

So who am I on about… well Mr Bob Collymore.

Sigh....

My good friend Adrian Ochieng works at Safaricom and I the poor guy must be fed up of me asking him constantly how Collymore is, what he is like and if I will ever get to meet him.

Anyway, here’s the reason I respect this mheshimiwa.

On February 4, 2012, Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore together with rapper Juliani toured the harsh neigbourhood of Dandora.

The duo joined by members of PAWA254 took a matatu to the Dandora dumpsite and I hear they hung out at California’s Mpambe – a kiosk-type restaurant know for its Swahili delicacies.

I loved how this important, respected gentleman who is ‘The CEO’ was a commoner for the day. No Fancy shmancy car, no designer suit or shoes; all he carried with him was humility and modestness.

They spent the day in Eastlands where Juliani (Another humble and awesome artist- a rare gem in our egotistical society) cut his musical teeth as a member of Ukoo Flani Mau Mau.

Later, while chilling at the PAWA254 lounge, my source tells me Collymore promised to give five of his favorite books to add to the PAWA254 collection.

BTW-PAWA254 is Nairobi’s unique new social enterprise and collaborative space for creatives and youth to achieve work of social impact.

The new hub will facilitate the use of visual and graphic arts, independent and citizen journalism, documentary film and photography, and digital and social media as means of civic expression and social action.

Anyway what my post is trying to get at is this: No matter how rich, important, successful or talented you are please always remember that humility will take you further than any 1 of these attributes so do come down from your esteemed pedestal once in a while to mingle with ‘us’ ordinary folk.

Tear a page out of my Celeb crush, Collymore’s book and give back and empower our youth as they are going to be the setting stone for our future Kenya.

Lady GaGa to make cameo in ‘Men in Black III’

Lady GaGa is joining the men in black!

She will have a small cameo in the upcoming Men in Black III.

Will Smith apparently revealed in a recent interview that there are several guest spots planned for the upcoming sequel.

GaGa has said in the past that she would like to try her hand at acting, and has expressed a particular admiration for Bollywood films.

The new instalment of the Men in Black series sees Smith’s Agent J travelling back in time to save his partner Agent K, played as a younger man by Josh Brolin. The film also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson and Bill Hader.

Former X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger is set to play a villain in the movie.

What Does Taylor Swift Have in Common With Little Sophia Grace & Rosie?

Yes, they are all cute, but that’s not it.

The two young English girls—who became instant superstars after their YouTube video rapping to Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” caught the eye of Ellen DeGeneres—have now gained their own segment on Ellen! (Clearly, their live performance and red carpet coverage worked out well).

Sophia Grace and Rosie’s “Tea Time” debuts on the show tomorrow with Taylor Swift as their first celebrity guest, and it turns out, there was a lot of common ground between these ladies, especially when it came to a certain subject…

Boyfriends.

Rosie asked Swift the age-old question of whether or not she had a special man in her life, and the singer answered that she didn’t (nope, not even Zac Efron). Then, she asked the girls the same.

Rosie’s face flashed fear, possibly the cutest moment ever, as she and Sophia Grace answered no, followed by more no’s.

“That’s exactly how I look when people ask me that, too,” Swift told them. “Like, that terrified look…So we’re just a bunch of single girls having tea.”

Then Rosie drops the bombshell, “I used to, but…I only had one boyfriend…So now I’m just a friend.”

“That’s good that you’re still friends,” Taylor reassured her, “That’s really good that you can do that.”

All the single ladies…

Jennifer Garner and Ben Afleck welcome baby boy!

Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck welcomed their third child—and first son!—together.

Alas, mum’s the word on the little guy’s name for now. But we’ve always been fans of  Violet Anne and Seraphina Rose, so we have high hopes that this little guy will have a cute unceleb baby name.

Muse Going Big With New Album Sound

YAY!

Muse are currently in the studio recording their sixth album, and like all Muse albums, this one appears to be even more bombastic and supercharged than its predecessors.

Over the weekend the band announced via Twitter that it was working with both a horn section and a string section on the new material.

Muse is collaborating with arranger, composer and conductor (and father of Beck) David Campbell, who was responsible for the orchestrations on “Unforgiven III” from Metallica’s Death Magnetic album, as well as work on These Days by Bon Jovi, Fallen by Evanescence and Minutes to Midnight with Linkin Park.
